This invention
relates to a process for alkylation of an isoparaffin with an
olefin over a solid-acid catalyst,
wherein at least two parallel reactors are used at the same time.
When the solid acid catalyst in one or more reactors need to be
regenerated, the catalyst is contacted in-situ in the reactor
with a solvent to wash out the macromolecular hydrocarbons deposited
on the surface of the catalyst in order to resume the high selectivity
of catalyst in alkylation.
